GORHAM – Dana Lloyd Wescott passed away at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on March 23, 2017. Dana was born in Portland on August 4, 1939, the son of Arthur and Mary Bustin Wescott. A graduate of Standish High School, Dana was one the original founding owners of Wescott & Sons in Standish. Known for his friendly and outgoing personality, he loved his family and friends at his homes in Gorham and Naples, Florida. Dana was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed watching and cheering for the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Dana was an outdoorsman who also enjoyed gardening and bee-keeping. He was very fortunate to travel throughout the world as well as crisscross the USA with his wife, Cookie and two beloved pets, Yorkie and Daisy Mae in their RV. Dana is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Arleen "Cookie" (Regan) Wescott; his brother, Tom Wescott and wife, Nancy of Nancy; daughter, Sherri Betts and husband, Peter of Gray; son, Brian and wife Cindy of Limington; son, Jeffrey and wife, Lynn of Standish; his step-sons, Eli Shamos of Manhattan Beach, CA and Andrew Shamos and wife, Ashley of Standish. Dana also is survived by his grandchildren Alicia, Megan, Cameron, and Jared; Amanda and Elizabeth; Josh and Krista as well as several great-grandchildren. Dana was pre-deceased by his first wife, Nancy Marean Wescott. The family thanks the Hospice of Southern Maine and the Gosnell House for the loving care that Dana received while there.
