Obituary

Windham – Dana Alfred Kinney, 71, passed away on Friday November 7, 2025. He was born in Portland on November 16, 1953, the son of Alfred and Pearl (Leonard) Kinney, brother to Karen Kinney (Makoba). Dana attended school in Scarborough graduating in class of 1972. He married Mary McGarvey on February 26th, 1977, and they lived in Scarborough to only recently. He was a dedicated mechanic at Nichols Portland for 48 years where he retired in 2020. Dana was a huge sports fan, he enjoyed collecting baseball cards and watching The New York Giants, the Red Sox, and the Knicks, however his greatest joy was attending his grandson's sports events and cheering them on. Many would describe Dana as patient, cheerful and steady. His sense of humor, easy going nature and ability to always see the good are just a few of the qualities he was so loved for. Dana was an exceptional role model for his daughter and grandsons and is missed beyond words. Dana is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Amy Kinney and his beloved four grandsons, Grady, Hayden, Thomas and Matthew Bilodeau, all of Windham. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Pearl Kinney and his sister Karen passed away just hours after he did on November 8th. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday November 21, 2025, at Dolby Blais & Segee Funeral Home, 35 Church Street, Westbrook, Followed by a Graveside service at Brooklawn Memorial Park 2002 Congress Street, Portland.
