Dana E. Hicks, 55 of Westbrook, Maine passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2015.  We will always remember his continuous smile, no matter how tough things were for him.  Dana always found the good in the bad and made you feel like everything was going to be ok.  He always wanted to help others in some way if he could, even when he was the one who needed help.   Dana graduated from Falmouth High School in 1977.  He was enrolled at PRVTC during his Junior and Senior years of high school where he studied building and construction.  He received the "Golden Hammer" award.  Dana joined the Maine Army National Guard, in 1978. He worked at the South Portland Armory for many years. He retired from the Army National Guard in 2010 as a Sargent E5. He was very proud of his Military Service.  He held many other positions with local businesses throughout the years.  Even with health struggles throughout his life, he was self-motivated to work in some capacity and always willing to help where ever he could. Dana was predeceased by his parents Roger F. and Blanche R. of Falmouth, Maine.  He is survived by his three sons Dana Hicks II of New York, and Allen Hicks and Joe Hicks and their families of Norway, Maine.  He is survived by five siblings:  Roger, Dale, Michael, Leslie, and Manuela and their families, along with an extended family of eleven step brothers and sisters, grandchildren, and a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. long time companion Lenora Zegouros and many friends who cared for him.   A celebration of Dana's life will be held on his birthday, August 15, 2015 at Just-A-Mere Farm in New Gloucester at 2:00pm, all are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in Dana's name will be accepted at New England Rehab 335 Brighton Avenue, #201, Portland, Maine 04102
