STANDISH - Dan P. Savage, 47 of Standish passed away April 8, 2016 with his loving wife Gail by his side. He was born in Westbrook on June 5, 1968, the son of the late Dennis and the late Jayne Savage. Dan was a 1986 graduate of Westbrook High School and a 1991 graduate of the University of Maine, Orono with a degree in Zoology. After college, Dan worked at IDEXX in Westbrook and then pursued a career in pharmaceutical sales. Dan was a jack of all trades. Dan had a talent and love of carpentry. Dan was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature, hunting and fishing and he took great pleasure in sharing it with others. He surrounded himself with family and friends and strangers he met quickly became his friends. Dan had a great sense of humor and he knew how to bring the best out in people. He always had a quick smile and hello for everyone he met. Dan's life changed forever when he met his wife, Gail in December 1999 and they were married on July 31, 2004. Dan was blessed with two children, Benjamin and Paige. Dan's lasting legacy is his children. They brought him so much love and happiness. He was so proud of them. Whether he was hunting, fishing, boating, or laughing with the "Brook" crowd or chilling with his friends, Dan was a family man first. He loved talking sports with his son Ben, having special moments with Paige, coaching Ben's youth little league and sharing his love for nature with his family. They were his number one priority. Dan will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend who had a passion and zest for life. Dan had a big heart and was loved by all. Dan is survived by his beloved wife Gail (Chamberland) Savage of Standish; his loving children Benjamin and Paige; brother Tim Savage of Westbrook; sister Melissa Marshall and husband Rick of Jacksonville, N.C.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Gisele Chamberland of St. Agatha; brother-in-law Gary Chamberland and his wife Krista of Buxton; brother-in-law Glen Chamberland and his wife Therese of Topsham; nephews Nathan, Matthew, Andrew, Caleb, and Richie. Dan was predeceased by his parents Dennis and Jayne Savage. Visiting hours will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 919 Roosevelt Trail, Windham. My dad was amazing. He always made jokes and made us laugh. And he loves to fish; we still have his poles. He missed the father daughter dance and my godfather took me.
