Obituary

Corinne E. (Harnois) Nicholas, 93, of Westbrook, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. She was the widow of Frank J. Nicholas, who died in 1982.                Corrinne was born into the loving family of John B. and Elisabeth (Smith) Harnois of Westbrook, where she lived most of her life. She attended St. Hyacinth School and then Westbrook High School graduating in the class of 1941. She was a US Navy veteran having served in the WAVES during WWII. She worked for Verizon as a directory assistance operator retiring in 1988. Family was very important; her seven siblings were her life-long friends. As she reunites with her brother Robert L. Harnois and sisters Evelyn Lavinge, Dorothy Hawkes and Beatrice Michaud, she will be greatly missed by Theresa Boulanger, Frances and Ernest Dugas, and Phyllis and Byron Rogers. She is also survived by Frank's only sister Mary Lunt and many nieces and nephews. She was a strong, independent woman who was the caring and supportive mother of: Cynthia N. and Joseph A. Wyman II of Gorham, Candice M. Nicholas of Scarborough, and Colette N. and Richard T. Anderson Jr., of Westbrook. She adored her grandchildren who will always remember her love for them: Nick Wyman and his son, Gavin and Matt and Ally Wyman and their son, Parker. She was fond of Dick's daughters Mandy and Kelly Anderson. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at the Gosnell for their wonderful care.                Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday August 24, 2016 from 9-11AM at Blais and Hay Funeral Home.
