Obituary

Cora Harris passed away peacefully at home on March  22, 2017, in Westbrook, Maine, surrounded by family members after a brief illness.  She was born on October 12, 1930, the daughter of Eugene and Rose (Tanguay) Boucher. She attended St. Hyacinth's school until the eighth grade and then went to Westbrook High School.  Upon graduation, she travelled to Washington, D.C. where she worked for the Department of Commerce.  It was there that she met James, her husband of 65 years.  She later moved back to Westbrook where she lived for the rest of her life.  She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Sebago-Moc Company and worked for Zayre's department store and Hannaford's. Upon retirement, James and Cora wintered in Florida for ten years. She loved baking at Christmastime, going out to eat, doing the word puzzles in the newspaper every day, and visiting her children and grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Hyacinth's church in Westbrook. She will be deeply missed by James, her husband, two sons, John of Canada and Alan and his wife Cherie of Hampden, Maine, and a daughter, Diana and her husband Jeff, of Atkinson, New Hampshire, and a sister, Germaine McAtee, of Westbrook.  She is predeceased by three brothers, Philippe Boucher, Raymond Boucher, and Robert Boucher, and one sister, Gloria Cote.  She also had five grandchildren whom she cherished and lived for, Katherine Harris, Samuel Fay, Amanda Fay, Matthew Harris and Lily Fay. At her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral.  The family will have a burial in the spring. On line condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com.
