Constance H. LaViolet, 88 of Westbrook, Maine, died peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Maine Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on March 15, 1927 in Montreal, Canada to Exalapha and Laura Meloche.  She graduated from  Ste. Cunegonde Academy and St. Angela Commercial School in Montreal.  She moved to Westbrook in 1949 after her marriage to Phil, the love of her life for almost 60 years.  After raising her five children, she went to work at Hilltop Kindergarten for a number of years.  When Phil retired, they volunteered at Springbrook Nursing home. She loved being with her family especially on "soup day".  She enjoyed playing cards, singing, playing the piano, loved to scratch lottery tickets, knitting and crocheting, making sure each of her grandchildren had one of her afghans. Meeting Connie was unforgettable.  She had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor going hours telling jokes and stories.  She was always the life of the party and loved to make people laugh. Connie was predeceased by her husband Philip, and her siblings:  Gabrielle, Yvon, France, Gaetane, Denise, Roger, and Leclerc.  She is survived by her children:  Ronnie and his wife Janice, Linda LaViolet, Steve and his wife Marie, Judy Athearn and her husband Marty, Gary and his wife Martha.  Grandchildren:  Donnie, Julie, Joanne, Steven, Michael, Ryan, Kathleen, Luke, Jacob,  Adam.  Great grandchildren:  Hope, Donnie, Nathan, Lindsey, and Laura.  Her siblings from Montreal:  Pierrette, Jean-Guy, and Claude as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the health professionals at Maine Medical Center for their excellent care and kindness to her. Visiting hours will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Blais and Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St, Westbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Connie's name to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital.
