Windham – Colin G. Paynter, 67, passed away Thursday August 24, 2017 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 18, 1950. Colin was a gregarious man who loved unconditionally. Colin's interest in his friends and their family was genuine. He would pray for their well-being and always ask if you were mad at him. Colin had a lifelong passion airplanes. He loved his weekly airplane magazine his friend Lori gave him. He spent many hours looking at plane books and magazines. Whenever he had the opportunity to fly he did, Colin was fortunate to be able to fly to Florida, Boston and New York, as well as taking a helicopter trip around Portland. Colin was also a collector of hot wheel cars. Every week he would pick one out to add to his collection and spent many hours playing with them. Colin will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Colin was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Simone Paynter. He is survived by his brother, Dennis Paynter and wife Sandra. His friend and guardian Lori Sanville and her husband Peter and family. Lori would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the many people who helped Colin live his life to the fullest. CASA staff present and past, Gaia Home staff, and a very special thank you to Colin's PCP Dr. Robert Rovner, MD for all his late night and early morning calls visiting Colin's home when Colin was in need. A memorial service will be celebrated at 10am, on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. Burial will follow to Eastern Cemetery, Gorham.
