Obituary

Gorham - Clista Arlene (Linscott) Lewis, 97, formerly of North Windham, died Friday July 20, 2018, at the Inn at Village Square. Mrs. Lewis was a native of Cornish, the daughter of the late Carroll P. and Gladys (Ridlon) Linscott. Mrs. Lewis was a graduate of Cornish High School and a Registered Nurse graduate of the New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Boston. She worked as a nurse, including 18 years as a home health and school nurse in Westbrook and Gorham. She enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling and travel, including a week on the Trans – Siberian Railway. Another favorite destination was Alaska, where she often said she would have liked to live had she discovered it as a younger woman. She was a big Red Sox and Celtics fan and an avid bowler, continuing to bowl occasionally into her 90's. In addition to her parents Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by her husband Raymond "Duffy" Lewis; brother Stanley P. Linscott, first husband Hugh M. Stearns, and daughter, Linda Carol (Stearns) Beaulieu. She is survived by her son, Michael H. Stearns of Coppell, Texas; stepdaughter, Carol (Lewis) Taylor and her husband John of Windham; one grandson, three step – grandchildren, two great – grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Inn at Village Square, for their dedicated care and assistance to Arlene. Funeral services will be private with an inurnment at Riverside Cemetery, Cornish. If desired, donations may be made in her memory to the Windham Food Pantry, 377 Gray Road, Windham, ME 04062.
