Obituary

Clarence C. Cummings passed away peacefully on Saturday December 13th, 2025 at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough, Maine. He was 83 years old. 

Clarence was born on May 29, 1942 in Lincoln, Maine to Marlin G. Cummings. and Leona M. (Porter) Cummings. Clarence was predeceased by his mother, father, his sister Virginia G. (Cummings) McNeal and his wife of 52 years Anne E. (Nash) Cummings. He is survived by his two sons and their spouses, Scott and Karen Cummings of Windham, and Steven and Melissa Cummings of Limington; his grandchildren, Sarah, Connor and Ashley Cummings (and her fiancée Nicholas Gray) and Kailee and Drew Cummings. 

Clarence graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln in 1961 and enlisted in the Army after graduation, serving from 1961 to 1964, primarily as a helicopter mechanic while stationed in Germany. After his discharge from the Army, he worked for Lincoln Pulp & Paper in Lincoln, Maine, until his retirement in 2004 when he and his wife moved to Windham, Maine to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Clarence was also a member of the American Legion Field Allen Post 148 in Windham. 

We would like to thank the many staff and caregivers of Maine Veterans’ Homes and Compassus for the kind care, attention, and comfort they gave to Clarence during his time with them.

Graveside services will be held in the spring of 2026 (date to be determined) at the Park Street Cemetery in Lincoln, Maine.
