PORTLAND – Christopher Lee Molbeck, 48, died on August 17, 2018, after a brief illness. He was born in Portland, on September 22, 1969, the son of Eric and Donna (Thomas) Molbeck. Christopher grew up in Portland, and as a boy, played Little League with the Rosemont Pharmacy team. He was a co-pitcher for his team which won the State Championship in 1982, when he was only 12. Chris was a 1987 graduate of Deering High School. Soon after, he started his 20 year career with Pier One Imports, eventually becoming their Manager in the Furniture Department. When he left there, Chris began working for Time Warner Cable, programing the cable boxes, and eventually moved up to be responsible for deliveries to the corporate locations. He enjoyed playing darts with his friends, and was a member of the Maine Dart Association. Chris also loved to spend time with his father, fishing at Highland Lake in Windham. Chris was a light hearted individual, who often gave nicknames to those around him. He will be missed by many. In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his brother, Matthew Molbeck; uncle, George Thomas and wife Donna; aunts, Lois Begnoche, and Christine Kimball and her husband Larry; and his significant other and close friend, Karen Berenson. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, August 24, at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais, & Segee, 35 Church St. A memorial service will be celebrated there at 1pm on Saturday, August 25.
