Chris Jeffers – 47 – Standish, Maine Unbreakable in spirit and unsurpassable in mind, Christopher Shawn Jeffers was born October 9, 1967 in Westbrook, Maine to the late Orleans and Harry Jeffers. He lived a life so inspirational that it encouraged all who loved him to be the truest versions of themselves, yet Chris passed away from us on July 14, 2015 and has rejoined the love of his life, his wife Laurel. The legacy Chris leaves is one that teaches us to triumph over adversity. Nothing thrown his way could manage to slow him down. Instead, he squeezed opportunity and positivity out of every aspect of his life. This started in his childhood where he frequently visited family in New Hampshire and walked away with grand stories of his Tom Sawyer-esque adventures, it continued as he became a technology pioneer while obtaining a Business degree from the University of Southern Maine, and later shone brightly as he proved that true love exists outside of fairy-tales, by finding it with his wife Laurel Jeffers. Chris had a spark that could ignite life within himself and those he shared it with. Chris truly loved all that life had to offer, and squeezed more of it into the short time he spent with us than many ever get the chance to do. He cherished snowmobiling through Maine winters, biking through Acadia summers, and when life tried to ground him, he took to the skies with RF planes; his inspiration knowing no limits and his passion unstoppable. For us who knew him, Chris was a guide, a mentor, a confidant, and a friend. Through turmoil and strife he never faltered, and even in the darkest times his heart was always open to take you in. Surrounded always by those he loved, and who will carry on his legacy now that he's gone, include his sister-in- law and friend, Heather Moore, her husband Jamie and children Jessica and Davis, his siblings Doug Jeffers and wife Irene, Suzanne Molina and husband Tim, Michele Butterfield and husband Donald, Anna Bryan, Mary Jeffers-Gowen and husband Bruce, Michael Jeffers and wife Darlene, and his numerous nieces and nephews Eric, his wife Anita, and children Marcus, Tristan, and Aiden Moulton, Heather, her husband John, and children Anthony and Lauren Orleans Luongo, Brianne Butterfield, Maria Jeffers, Tessa and her husband Taylor Manning, Tyler Gowen, Nick Gowen, Darrick Jeffers, and Sarah Jeffers. We all share the wonderful memories of the time we were gifted with Chris, and he will forever remain a towering beacon of light. He stood taller than us all. Chris' final wishes were to forego a public funeral service. If you would like to honor his memory, the family has suggested that donations be made to the address below for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, to make a positive difference in the lives of others, as Chris did for us.
