GORHAM—Cheryl Donna Plummer Martin, 74, passed away surrounded by her family at the Barron Center in Portland on Friday, August 3, 2018. Cheryl was born February 27, 1944, a daughter of Frank and Ethel (Raymond) Morin. She grew up in the Brunswick area where she received her education from local schools. On July 20, 1963, she married Rodney Plummer and together they settled in Gorham, raising their family. Cheryl was a people person and was a familiar face to many at Unum where she worked as a cashier for Aramark for many years. A strong woman, when Cheryl's husband passed away in 1979, she continued to work hard and provide for her three children, Shelly, Dawn and Cory. She was a fun person who enjoyed dancing, music and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She kept an immaculate home and loved to do word searches. Cheryl will be remembered for her love of her family and her signature contagious laugh. She is survived by her children, Shelly Craft and her husband Robert of Gorham, Dawn Grass and her husband Keith of Raymond, Cory Plummer and his wife Rebecca of Bridgton; sisters, Trisha Morin and her husband, Stephen of Gorham, and Claudia Garland and her husband Billy of Virginia; a brother in law Douglas Seaford of North Carolina; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Rodney Plummer; a brother, Raymond Morin, and sisters Beverly Seaford and Maxine Nolan. Cheryl's family would like to give a special thanks to the Barron Center staff on the BC2 Unit for the excellent care given to Cheryl during her time there and Compassus Hospice for their compassion during her end stages of Alzheimer's Disease. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018, from 1pm to 3pm, at the Windham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, Windham, Maine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cheryl's name may be made to the Barron Center Activity Fund, 1145 Brighton Ave., Portland, ME 04102.
