Obituary

Cheryl L Duffy, 77 of Windham, Maine, passed away peacefully on 09/29/2026, surrounded by the love of her family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Cheryl was born in Portsmouth, NH, and raised in nearby Rye, NH. She later moved to Windham, where she built a beautiful life surrounded by the people, she loved the most.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mike Duffy, their three children Sean Carberry and Fiancé Kim Nicholas, Kristal Duffy and husband Joel Woodward, Matt Duffy and wife Jenna and her beloved grandchildren, Adam, Bradyn, Brielle and Benson.

Throughout her illness, Cheryl showed remarkable strength, determination and positive spirit. Even during the most difficult days, she continued to find reasons to smile and remained focused on the people she loved. Above all else, Cheryl cherished her family, and her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. They were her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her love for her grandchildren was endless and the memories they created together will remain in their hearts forever.

Cheryl had a special love for Christmas. It was her favorite holiday, not only because of the traditions and time spent together, but because she loved nothing more than spoiling everyone she loved. Giving to others brought so much happiness, and she found joy in making Christmas special and memorable for her family.

Cheryl will be remembered not by the illness she faced but by the he life she lived, the love she gave, her incredible strength, and the many lives she touched along the way. Her warm generosity and love for her family will be deeply missed and cherished forever.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and doctors at New England Cancer Specialists for the care and compassion they provided to Cheryl. A very special Thank You goes to the Andwell Nurses who cared for Cheryl over the past few weeks. Your kindness, compassion and support meant so much to Cheryl and her family during an incredibly difficult time. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

A celebration of life will be held October 11th from 1:00-4pm at Rustlers Steakhouse in Windham. All that knew Cheryl and would like to attend are welcome to join the family in celebrating her life and the love she shared with so many.
