WINDHAM – Charles W. "Bill" Hall, Sr., 83, died peacefully on March 3, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born in Windham, on April 15, 1934, the son of the late John and Marion (Brackett) Hall. Bill was a dairy farmer, and the farm was, quite simply, his life. He bought his first cow while still in high school and built his barn in 1960. Starting his farm from scratch, Bill has grown it into raising between 90-100 cows. For over 60 years, he has been selling his milk to Oakhurst, and has won many awards through the company. To say Bill was a hard worker is an understatement. He had dedicated his life to his farm and was able to share his successes with his wife and children. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of over 45 years, Carol (Sawyer) Hall; sons, Charles "Chuck", Jr., and wife Deb of Windham, Richard "Rick" of Livermore, and Leslie "Les" and wife Carolyn of Windham; daughter, Wanda Hall and husband Paul Thibodeau of Upton; step-daughter, Dorotha "Dottie" Bell and husband David of Waterford; 10 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Services for Bill will be private per his request. Arrangements by the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais, & Segee. Memorial donations in Bill's honor may be made to Windham Fire Rescue, 375 Gray Rd., Windham, ME 04062 or to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, PO Box 336, Westbrook, ME 04098.
