It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carrie Belle Cobb, a beloved figure in our community who left this world on September 17, 2026, at the age of 99. Born on June 27, 1927, in Windham, Maine, Carrie spent her life surrounded by the beauty of her beloved state, ultimately making her home in Hollis Center.

Carrie was a true testament to the power of kindness and compassion. As a foster parent for over 40 years, she opened her home and heart to numerous children, providing them with love and support that many still carry with them to this day. She also dedicated her hands to work, spending time at S.D. Warren, Dayton School, and CO-Hen Egg Farm, all while never losing her spark for life.

In her free time, you could find Carrie enthusiastically tackling puzzles, gathering around the table for a game of Rummy, whipping up delicious meals, or scouring the fields for fresh blueberries. Her warmth and zest for life were infectious, forging deep bonds with family and friends alike.

Carrie is survived by her sons; William H Cobb Jr., Steven D Cobb, Stanley Cobb, Richard Cobb, and Walter Cobb; daughters, Linda Lamontagne, Sharon Burton, Marilyn Couette, Jane Derry, Doris Cobb, and April Jones; along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar & Myrtle Varney; her husband, William Cobb Sr; brothers, Edgar Varney Jr., Erlon Varney, and Everett Varney; sisters, Marion Lowe, Katherine Hawkes, Shirley Sangillo, and Eleanor Rollins.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Smith Cemetery, 509 Gray Road, Windham.

Lite luncheon is being served after the burial at Windham UCC 140 Windham Center Rd. 04062
