Windham – Carolyn J. Standley, 77, died on February 9, 2017. She was born in Portland, on October 18, 1939, the daughter of George and Hilda (Wall) Burton. Carolyn grew up in the Portland area and attended local schools. She had worked for many years at Saunders Brothers, in Locke Mills. Carolyn kept to herself, but always enjoyed being outdoors. She was a true Mainer, who could not imagine living anywhere else. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Donna Rafferty and husband Henry of Ashburnham, MA; stepson, Robert Standley, Jr of Manchester, CT.; brother George "Sonny" Burton of Fall River, MA; grandchildren, Henry and Brian Rafferty, and Richard and Ryan Standley; and great grandchildren, Cadence and Calliope Rafferty. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is predeceased by her husband, Robert Standley, Sr., and her sister, Patricia O'Brien. A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery, Windham in the Spring.
