Born on June 23, 1940, in Cherryfield, Maine, she was the daughter of Merle Plummer and Madeline Leighton. Carole lived a vibrant life, embracing every moment and leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege to know her.

She often said, “She did it her way,” and her determination and independence were hallmarks of her character.

Carole's passions included quilting, dancing, and a special fondness for casinos, particularly the thrill of slot machines. Her laughter and joy were infectious, and she cherished the many joyful moments spent with family and friends.

Carole was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Doten, and her sister, Delores Westphal.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughters, Pamela (Stephen) Wing of Gorham and Wendy (Tom) Riebe of Windham, her sister Gloria (Donald) Wert of Michigan, and brother-in-Law Robert Westphal of Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Hunter (Kristen) Wing, Shayla Wing and her fiancé Patrick Chemodurow, Nicole (Gene) Davila, Nathan Pendexter, and Colt Riebe, along with several great-grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy and pride.
