Carol C. (Tibbetts) Quint, 77, of Westbrook, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the Gosnell House in Scarborough. Carol was born April 4, 1936 in Amherst, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of Roy H. and Hazel V. (Gamble) Tibbetts. Carol moved to Maine with her family in 1947 and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1953. She married Arthur A. Quint on August 25, 1956. Together they raised four children. Once the children were all in high school, Carol worked for Hawkes TV, Westbrook College School of Nursing and Husson College in Portland. Carol attended USM, where she earned an associate degree in business in 1985. In 1991, she earned a bachelor degree in business from Husson College. She also operated a resume writing service from her home for 19 years. Carol liked to write essays and poetry and had won prizes for both. Some of her articles were included in local publications. She also liked to knit, crochet, and quilt. She and Arthur enjoyed camping and made many trips to Maritime Canada. They also had the opportunity to travel, including two trips to Alaska and across the Canadian provinces by train. In 1998, Carol became an active member of the Westbrook Women's Club. She held many offices, including Recording Secretary, Vice President and most recently was President until her illness. In July, 2013 she was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership in the organization. She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years and her children, David (Cate) of Florida, Susan Adams (David) of Saco, Laurie of Virginia, and Bruce (Denise) of Gorham. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Dan and Ben Adams, Whitney, Ryan, and Graham Quint, Erin Christiansen, Joseph PreKop, Meghan Nesbitt and a great-grandson Trenton Kidder. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Blais and Hay Funeral Home 35 Church St. Westbrook, Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 pm at the Westbrook Warren Congregational Church, interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
