Carol S. Fortin, 60 Westbrook Carol S. Fortin, of 345 Saco Street, Westbrook passed away suddenly on May 24, 2012. She was born on December 6, 1951 the daughter of Edward and Betty Purdue of Avon, Illinois. For the past 10 years, Carol worked at Hannaford Supermarket in South Portland in the Produce Department. Lately she worked at the Customer Service Counter where she enjoyed sharing a laugh and helping people. All who new Carol will remember her as a caring and loving person ready to help anyone in need. She loved animals; cats, birds and dogs and also plants of all kinds. Carol was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend David R. Fortin in 2006. Together they were very active with the Odd Fellows' of Maine and with the Rebekahs' Nursing Home of Maine in Auburn. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Betty Purdue and her step son David R. Fortin, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Melanie Petrlik Cardus of South Portland and son John Petrlik of Scarborough; step sons' Michael Fortin and wife Mindy, and Timothy Fortin and his wife Tara all of Wasilla, Alaska, and 5 Grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Robert Purdue and wife of Florida, her Mother-in-Law, Doris Fortin of Augusta, Maine. She will always be loved and missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be at Blais & Hay Funeral Home on 35 Church Street in Westbrook from 10 to 11 AM Friday followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Lewiston.
