WINDHAM—Carol Farrow Dow, 83, of Windham, formerly of West Berne, New York, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 18, 2016. Carol was born on October 26, 1932, in Waterville, Maine, the only daughter of Welton and Verna Farrow. She graduated from Waterville High School and continued her education at University of Maine at Orono where she graduated with an Associate's Degree. During her school years she was active on cheerleading squads and enjoyed playing the clarinet. Carol raised her family in West Berne, New York where she was the secretary at Berne Knox Westerlo High School and was also the president of the PTA. Carol enjoyed painting, gardening, living a healthy lifestyle, and running (even until her late 60's). As an accomplished runner, she was 2nd place winner in the Freihofers 5K Run for Women in Albany, NY. Carol will be remembered as a dedicated mother and will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her children, Steven Dow of Windham, ME, Michael Dow of Schoharie, NY, Robert Dow of Waterford, ME, Deborah Scholz Dow of Schoharie, NY, Neal Dow of Green Island, NY, and Glenn Dow and his wife, Kathy of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Samantha Dow and Kyle Dow; and many other people whose lives she touched.
