Windham – Carmella Pecoraro Laskey "Minola", a life-long resident of Windham, Maine died April 20, 2017 at her home. Born to parents Agostino and Anna Pecoraro, on March 17, 1928 in Windham, Maine, Minola worked at the Ellis Paper Board Company from high school through retirement. She married Merrill "Tally" Laskey, and they spend their lives together in Windham while wintering in their home in Lake Alfred, Florida. Minola was a pastor's wife, and enjoyed cooking for the parish. She had a gift for baking. Her needhams, fudge, spaghetti sauce, and pies (of which she always picked her own berries) were delectable. Minola was also an avid gardener. She had a "green thumb" and canned her own vegetables and pickles. Minola was always eager to share her delicious goods with her family and friends. Minola had a gift for gab and had a wonderful smile and laugh that would light up a room. She is survived by her husband Merrill Calvert Laskey of Windham, Maine, a sister, Julia Larrabee and nephew Donald Larrabee of Windham Maine, brothers Agostino Pecoraro and his wife Mary of Revere, Massachusetts, and John Pecoraro of Denmark, Maine. She is predeceased by her parents Anna and Agostino Pecoraro, her brothers, Gene, Generean, Anthony and Joseph Pecoraro; and sisters Mary Maglione and Caroline Camusi. Minola also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Carmella will be buried at Arlington Cemetery in North Windham, Maine. Graveside Service has been changed to 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the cemetery.
