Obituary

Carmelita Ruth (Stubblefield) St.Pierre peacefully passed from the arms of her family into the arms of her Lord and Savior early Thanksgiving morning, Thursday November 24, 2016. Carmelita was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 24, 1928 to John C. and Bonnie (Tichenor) Stubblefield. She was raised in a Christian home with her 10 siblings and served the Lord throughout her entire life. She graduated from Peniel Bible School and spent many years working as a bank teller eventually retiring from Gorham Savings Bank. Once her husband retired from the U.S. Navy, they moved to Maine to raise their children alongside family. She dedicated her life to her family and her only greater love was for the Lord. She was a long time member of Emmanuel Assembly of God. She had the voice of an angel and ministered to many throughout the years. She always had a kind heart and kind words for everyone she met. She truly lived her life by example and was a blessing to all who knew her. Carmelita was predeceased by her husband Albert L. St.Pierre, her siblings Thomas, Stella, Evelyn, Vivian, Coralie, Harold, Howard, Ronald. She is survived by her beloved sister Bonnie Marian and her brother John (Jack) Stubblefield; her children Thomas St.Pierrre of Gorham, ME, Michele St.Pierre of Gorham, ME and Lori Banks Chandler and husband David of Miami, FL. The greatest joys of her life, grandchildren William Banks, Cheyanne Banks-Griffin and Vincent Banks. Great-grandchildren Mikey and Christian Banks along with many brother and sister in laws,  nieces, nephews and extended family who each have made a unique difference and had a special place in her heart. A special thanks and true appreciation for the staff at Stillwater and Ledgewood Manor who helped care for our mother over the past several years. You made a difference in her life and your love and compassion will never be forgotten. There is no love greater than the love of a mother. Until we meet again, we will see you when we look to the heavens, in the early morning sunrise, in the glorious sunsets. Your love will be with us forever. Visiting hours on Tuesday, November 29 at 11AM with funeral immediately following at noon at Emmanuel Assembly of God church, 1095 Washington Ave, Portland, ME 04103. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook, Maine. Family and friends are welcome to share in celebration of Carmelita's life at Emmanuel following graveside service.
