Standish- Bruce Edward Smith, 55, of Standish, died on September 29, 2018 doing what he loved best, riding his Spider motorcycle. The son of Loren and Elva (Strout) Smith, he was born in Portland on November 8, 1962. He grew up in Westbrook. He worked for HP Hood Diary Company in their shipping and receiving department. Besides riding his motorcycle he enjoyed fishing, tournament bowling and was an avid chess player. He is survived by his sisters Paula Beaulieu, and her husband Edgar of Standish, and Alicia Johnston of Portland, his brother Loren Smith of West Paris, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and his great niece Brooke, to whom he was "high five uncle". Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 10:00AM at The Deeper Well Church, 190 Northeast Rd. (Rte. 35) Standish. Arrangements are under the care of the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bruce's memory to the Deeper Well Church.
