Obituary

Westbrook - When the snow of Narnia melts, the winter in our hearts gives way to a springtime of faith. The snow indeed melted in the life of Bruce Reny as his new-found faith ushered him into a gloriously perfected body, a mansion prepared for him to dwell eternally in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bruce departed January 6, 2018 after a long, yet, courageous battle with an all too familiar nemesis, cancer. Born on July1, 1942 to Paul and Edith Reny in Biddeford. Following his graduation from Thornton Academy of Saco in 1960, Bruce served three years in the US Army as an aircraft mechanic. During his working career, Bruce began driving truck until eventually he went into the marine business where his passion for boats became his ultimate livelihood. Beyond boating, Bruce enjoyed motorcycles, working on computers, and flying remote controlled airplanes. He was passionately involved in a local model airplane club called, The Propsnapper's. Bruce was a husband of 31 years to his surviving wife, Ruth S Reny, was a father and grandfather. He richly enjoyed being Grampa to his grandchildren, and found it especially gratifying being given the opportunity to mentor his twin grandsons in numerous fields such as, computer repair, auto mechanics and videography to name a few. Besides his wife, Ruth, Bruce is survived by a brother, Brian Reny of Orlando, Florida; sister, Kathy Reny and her husband, Tilden of Panama; children, Christopher Reny and his wife, Liza of Alfred, Maine; Stephen Reny of Biddeford, Maine; Robyn Roes and her husband, Jay of Buxton, Maine; along with nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service with military honors will be held at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 35 Church Street, Westbrook at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 20, 2018. A committal service will be held in the spring.
