Brian Madison Close, 72, of Buxton, passed away on August 10, 2026.

Brian was well loved. He has a weird sense of humor that made people laugh and wonder "what the heck?". In his early 20’s, he and a friend pedaled to Florida. They found work on the way and worked for Man Power when they got there. They also pedaled passed Oklahoma. Brian was very proud of this and liked to make fun of the new e-bikes.

Brian worked hard, so he really enjoyed retirement. Brian loved camping and hiking. He hiked to the top of Mt. Washington at least twice. He liked ending up in a place he could say “never been here before.” He was an artist, a talent he received from his mother, he was an avid reader which he learned from his father. Brian was full of useless trivia, but if you needed to know something it was always ask Brian.

He loved taking long walks with his buddy Tommy our dog. Brian was also a great taste tester when I was trying something new. He was just a great guy and husband!! He will be missed by many!!! I love you Brian. Tase
