Obituary

Windham, Brandon Edmund Dumond, 26, of Anderson Rd., Windham, passed away Wednesday, Nov 16, 2016, after being struck by a car on Anderson Rd. He was born in Portland, the son of Edmund and Laurene (Harnden) Dumond. Brandon graduated from Windham High School in 2009. He worked at D & G Machine for five years and had recently taken a position as a plumbing apprentice. Brandon was very generous and had a heart of gold. Brandon was a pleasure to be around. He would give his shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was polite, gentle, and kind. Brandon loved spending time on the back trails snowmobiling. As a young boy, he spent many vacations in northern Maine and Canada with his family.  He also loved riding his dirt bike. He was a phenomenal motocross rider. Brandon even purchased dirtbikes for his two little sisters with all the safety gear. He wanted his sisters to come second to no male. He was very protective of his siblings, and his family, especially his sisters. Brandon also loved holidays, any holiday, but mostly Christmas morning. Legalizing fireworks was also a joy for Brandon, he made his own display for the entire family to enjoy. It was the most beautiful event ever! He had many special times shared with his cousins! Family was most important to Brandon. There was nothing Brandon couldn't do with his hands; He needed not to be taught, for he had natural skills for everything. Brandon was so excited about his new career. He was planning to buy his first home and was so excited about his future. Brandon's life has been taken from us far too soon. He surcame a congenital heart defect as a small boy, by only the grace of God we were allowed these short 26 years of his precious life. He will be deeply missed by so many. His beautiful dark eyes, his almost black hair, and the purest most beautiful skin.  The sorrow from this loss will never, ever go away. Our lives have been completely altered in such a painful way over this senseless tragedy. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Edmund Dumond and Lillian Norton. He is survived by his parents Edmund and Laurene of Windham; siblings Kyle, Maresa, and Adrianna Dumond, all of Windham; his maternal grandparents Josephine and Lawrence Harnden of Westbrook; aunts Juliene and Dale Adriance, Cheryl and David Martel, Joel Harnden, and Jessica Harnden; cousins Chris and Michael Dumond, Nicholas, Corey, Tyler, Alexander Adriance, Joel Michael and Jenna Harnden. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 PM Monday, Nov 21, at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, Nov 22, at St. Anthony's Parish Church, Brown St., Westbrook. Online condolences may be expressed at blaisandhayfuneralhome.com
