Branden Michael Denis, 16, of Gorham, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014. He was born in Portland, the son of David Denis and Candice Tucker. He was raised in Gorham and attending Gorham schools. Branden was a well-respected member of the football team where he earned the nickname "Superman". He had prepared for the season with many hours in the gym lifting weights and was proud of the fact that he had become a member of the 400 Club. His passion for playing was so great that he loved being in the game even if he was injured. As strong and tough Branden was, he was still a soft spoken gentle giant with a heart of gold. Branden loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spent numerous hours in the woods with his grandfather Keven. He loved spending time with his family and hanging out with his cousins. He had a gift of making people laugh wherever he went. One of his favorite things to do was light off the annual 4th of July fireworks with his Dad at camp. He is survived by his father David Denis of Limington; his mother Candice Lynn Tucker of Gorham; his paternal grandparents Susan and Keven Denis of Steep Falls; maternal grandmother Gemma Long of Steep Falls; a brother Austin Denis and a sister Abigaile Denis, both of Gorham; his aunts Angelique Tucker and partner Jeremy Dunlap of Standish, Lisa Denis and partner Kirk Crommie; and several cousins, great aunts and great uncles. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 PM Friday in the auditorium at Gorham High School followed by a funeral service at 7PM. Interment will take place at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Gorham.
