Bradford L. Chapman, 70, of Buck St., Gorham, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2012. He was born in Masardis, Maine, the son of Aubrey and Ella (McKay) Chapman. He graduated from Ashland High School. Bradford later served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam. He worked for the Gorham School Department and later at the Cumberland County Courthouse before retiring. He was a Past Commander of the American Legion Post 197 in Westbrook. Bradford loved working around the yard, planting trees, and helping neighbors or any one that needed some help. He enjoyed fishing, and loved animals, especially cats. He is survived by his wife Elaine (Pedley) Chapman of Gorham; a stepson Terry Brown of Gorham; a brother Beverly Chapman of Ashland; brother-n-law Tommy Pedley and his wife Carol of Standish; Step grandchild Amanda McCloski and step great grandchild Jonathan McCloski; a niece Deborah Chapman; a nephew James Chapman; cousins Peter Leach of Fredericksburg, VA., and Barbara Williams Hornbrook, CA. Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook.
