Franklin County, ME - Bogdan Dosov, 19, of Westbrook, Maine, passed away tragically and unexpectedly on August 12, 2026.

Born in Uzbekistan, Bogdan came to the United States three years ago with his parents and four of his siblings, beginning a new chapter of his life with his family. He was the ninth of ten children born to Nazar and Jumagul Dosov. His family was at the heart of his life, and he shared a deep love and respect for his parents. He was his parents’ “right hand”—always ready to step in, take responsibility, and do whatever needed to be done.

Bogdan was a recent graduate of Standish Baptist Academy and had just begun his studies at Southern Maine Community College. He was excited about the future that lay before him, with many plans, hopes, and dreams for the life he was beginning to build.

His faith was an important part of that life. Bogdan was a devoted Christian and a member of First Russian Baptist Church, where he was surrounded by a church family he loved. His faith was not simply something he professed; it was reflected in the way he lived and in the way he treated those around him. He was always willing to help, and when he took something on, he did it wholeheartedly. He cared about doing things well and would give his very best until the work was finished.

Bogdan brought a distinctive energy and warmth wherever he went. Full of life, passionate, driven, and outgoing, he was not someone who stood on the sidelines. He readily became involved, took initiative, and gave himself fully to whatever was in front of him. He had a genuine love for people of all ages and an unusual ability to connect with both young children and older adults. He was someone others could count on—ready to help, ready to work, and always ready to be a friend.

Among the many things Bogdan enjoyed was cooking. He was a wonderful cook and especially loved preparing food to share with others. He took pride in what he did, and whether he was cooking for his family, helping someone, working, studying, or simply spending time with friends, he approached everything with the same wholeheartedness and determination that characterized so much of his life.

Bogdan was the beloved son of Nazar and Jumagul Dosov and a cherished brother to Zebo, Salim, Nuriya, Mirzaber, Mushtari, Stepan, David, Praskovya, and Emima, as well as to their spouses and families. The love he had for his family was evident in the way he lived each day. He valued the people closest to him deeply, and his presence brought strength, energy, and warmth to the family he loved so much.

Bogdan’s life ended far too soon. At just nineteen, he had only begun to discover all that the future held for him. He had so many dreams and plans for his future, and so much more life to live and share with the people he loved. His sudden passing has left a deep emptiness in the hearts of his family and everyone who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by his parents, his brothers and sisters and their families, his church family at First Russian Baptist Church, his friends from Standish Baptist Academy, his coworkers, and especially Leah, who held a very special place in his heart.

Although Bogdan’s life was far too short, he lived with faith, purpose, and a genuine love for others. He loved his family deeply, worked hard, helped those around him, and brought joy and energy wherever he went. He will be remembered for his faith, his generous heart, his determination, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9 - 10 am, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the First Russian Baptist Church, 211 Mosher Road, Gorham, ME. A funeral service will follow at 10 am at the church and burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook, ME.
