Blanche A. Harrington, 98, of Jeanne St., Portland, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 peacefully at her home. She was born in Clinton, ME, the daughter of Manley and Mabel (Willey) Waning.  Blanche graduated from the Golden Beauty School and worked in the hairdressing field.  She also sewed draperies from her home for Porteous, Mitchell, and Braun over a 25 year period.  Blanche enjoyed growing flowers in her garden and was an avid reader of Biblical commentaries. She was predeceased by her husband Rev. Allen C. Harrington in 1994. Blanche is survived by her sons John Harrington of Portland and Florida, and Owen Harington and his wife Cindy of Windham, NH; 2 grandchildren, Thomas and Karen Harrington of Windham, NH; and four nieces. A graveside service will be held at 12 NoonTuesday at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland.  Arrangements are by Blais & Hay Funeral Home, Westbrook.
