Blanche M. Garland, 85, of Methodist Road, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at the Barron Center. She was born in Westbrook, the daughter of John and Madeline (Schroder) Barrows. Blanche worked at S.D. Warren Paper Co. for a few years before raising her family. She also worked for the Westbrook School Department in the Cafeteria for several years. She enjoyed playing Beano, going to yard sales and garage sales, cooking, trips to Vermont, going out to eat, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters Beverly Thibodeau, Byrle Norris, and a brother Earl Barrows. She is survived by her husband Roger Garland; son Ron and his wife Brenda Garland of Westbrook; granddaughters Melissa and husband Brian Grady, Stacey Parker; grandsons Scott Garland, Eric and wife Theresa Garland, Michael Parker and fiance Heidi Palker, Jason and wife Shernita Parker; and 11 great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, Nov. 14th, at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook. Interment will be private.
