Betty was born on Tuesday, April 9, 1946 in Portland. Betty was a hard-working stay-at-home mom and raised five children. Betty enjoyed singing Karaoke, dancing and seeing her friends at the American Legion. She had a good sense of humor, loved to laugh and tell stories and recount the story. As Betty matured and grew; she was always working on being a 'better" person. We all could work on being better people. Betty surrounded herself with people who truly cared and loved her, she strived for a peaceful life. She could also apologize with her heart in her hand. Betty and her grandson Devin had a close and special bond. Her entire life Betty enjoyed drawing; she and Devin would draw and play games together. She also enjoyed watching Devin play online games. Betty and her last-born son Paul had a very close relationship. In his teen years, they would ride dune buggies, dirt bikes and snowmobiles together. They let their hair down and had fun; she needed a time like that in her life. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Sandra Spiller Rickett, brothers; Robert Spiller, Ronald Spiller, David Spiller, Donald Spiller and her eldest child Phillip Gurney. If You're Ever Going to Love Me (in part) If you are going to love me, love me now, while I can know the sweet and tender feelings, which from true affection flows. Love me now, while I am living. Do not wait until I'm gone and then chisel it in marble, sweet words on ice-cold stone. If you have tender thoughts of me, tell me now, If you wait until I am sleeping, never to awaken, there will be death between us and I won't hear you then. So, if you love me, even a little bit, let me know while I am living, so I can treasure it.
