Obituary

Bethanne Bean October 25, 1970 - February 20, 2023 Bethanne Bean, devoted wife, stepmother, and aunt, died suddenly on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Maine Medical Center at the age of 52. Beth was born to William A. and Susan Z. Carlson on October 25, 1970 in Milford, Connecticut. She grew up surrounded with lots of love from a large extended family. Beth graduated from Joseph A. Foran High School, where she played basketball and volleyball. After graduating, Beth attended Naval Basic Training and later received a medical discharge. It was at this time that she met the love of her life, Wayne Bean. Together they helped raise her stepsons Sean and Joshua Lisle. They built a household based on hard work and devotion to each other. Beth was incredibly committed to her family and friends. She was a selfless wife, stepmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend. In recent years the title of "Aunt BB" was among her favorites, as she provided daycare and countless hours of love and fun to her three nephews - Casey, Wylie, and Oakley Carlson, who all adored her. Beth was also a passionate animal lover, caring for over twenty cats in thirty years, and in recent years raising her two "babies" - black Labradors Bjorn and Raven. She advocated for multiple animal protection groups. Professionally, Beth worked many years in retail, specifically in the antique market where she made many friends. Additionally, Beth worked as an in-home caregiver for families on both Connecticut and later Maine. She was constantly praised for her kindness, work ethic, and attention to detail. Beth was preceded in death by her father, William A. Carlson Jr.; and her stepson, Sean Lisle. Beth is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Bean; stepson Joshua Lisle; mother, Susan Carlson; brother, Ian Carlson and sister-in-law, Teal; and her nephews, Casey, Wylie, and Oakley Carlson, along with dear friends, Mike and Rhonda (BBF) Hubbard, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Whether family, friend, patient, customer, or stranger, Beth was always willing to help and care for others, and this devotion and generosity to all is the legacy she leaves behind. A celebration of life will be held at a later date with details to follow.
