Obituary

. Bessie Lillian Haskell (Beesley) age 98; went home to her Lord on February 14, 2023 from her earthly home in Lebanon, Tennessee. She was born November 18, 1924, in Westbrook Maine to Sadie Beesley and George Beesley. She was raised in Westbrook and Waterville, Maine. She moved Tennessee with her daughter Tracie (Tracey) just before Christmas2020. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sadie Beesley, father George Beesley, infant brother Floyd Beesley, her sister Marjorie Stuart and her husband of nearly 62 years Elwood " Bud" Haskell. She is survived by her daughter Tracie Haskell of Lebanon, Tennessee, her son Timothy Haskell (Susan) Grandson Jacob Haskell (Anna), Granddaughter Emily Haskell (Dylan), Great Grandsons Jaxon Bear Hollis, Finley Sabasteanski and Jordy Elwood Haskell all of Westbrook Maine. Bessie and Bud met square dancing. She enjoyed music and going to the theatre and High Schools to see plays. She and her family spent their summers swimming, boating, and camping. She attended all her children's sporting events, band events, plays, and twirling competitions. She also attended as many of her grandchildren's events as possible and later some of Jaxon's ballgames. She taught Sunday School and tended the Nursery at Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church for over 20 years. She was active in the ladies groups, grange, senior citizens and Cumberland County Extension. She loved animals especially her many cats and dogs and her family's cats and dogs. She sewed, did puzzles, played board games and read books. She was stubborn and proud but had a smile for everyone. She also had a mischievous streak and her TN friends said she had a grinch grin from when he received his heart. Visitation will be Friday March 10th from 5-7pm at Dolby Blais and Segee Funeral Home 35 Church Street Westbrook Maine and Saturday March 11th from 9am-10:30 am at Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church 810 Main St. Westbrook Maine with a funeral immediately following. Interment will be in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery Westbrook Maine.
