Bertrand Christie, 90, of Libby Ave, Westbrook, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his home after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Westbrook, the son of Philip and Ernestine (Manchester) Christie. He entered the Navy and served his country during World War II and in the Korean War. Bertrand had a long career at S.D. Warren before he retired. He enjoyed his camp on Tricky Pond, fishing, and cooking. He also enjoyed clocks and collecting mechanical banks. Bertrand was an avid painter and a Red Sox and Patriots fan. Another favorite pastime of his was traveling down east with his friends. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Colby) Christie and a sister Patricia Cousins. He is survived by his daughters Eileen Norton of Westbrook ,Tena Blanchard and husband Rick of Westbrook, and Gail Christie and partner Jim McGrory of Oceanside, CA; grandchildren Joshua Blanchard and wife Lisa, Clare Norton and husband Corey Woods, Christie Jordan and husband Patrick, Meghan McGrory, and Caitlin McGrory; great grandchildren Madison Blanchard, Sydney Blanchard, Piper Jordan, and Hudson Hildebrand; and a sister Joan Appleby of Florida.
