Barry Libby, 78 Years, of Windham, ME, died on May 2nd, 2023 at Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on September 28, 1944 to Charles D. Libby Sr. and M. Ruth Steele. Barry attended Windham schools and graduated in 1962, he went into the Army in August and served in Fort Belvoir in Virginia and Hanau, Germany. On June 22, 1968, he married the love of his life Sherry A. Richards. They would have been married 55 years this upcoming June. Barry worked for many companies over the years including, Southworth Machine, Moore Business Forms, and S.D. Warren/Sappi for 28 years, retiring in 2004. He was involved in the community, being a part of many groups including the American Legion out of Westbrook, the Presumpscot Lodge of Masons, the Kora Temple Shrine, Fraternal Order of the Eagle2s Lake Region, and a former member of the Windham Fire Department. While he was not at work or out in the community, Barry enjoyed fishing, auto racing, watching the Red Sox or the Patriots, and spending time with his family at their camp in Andover. Towards the end of Barry's life some the most memorable moments were spent with his son Gary as they traveled across the states visiting landmarks such as Gettysburg, Washington D.C., and Las Vegas. Barry is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Charles D. Libby, and sisters Winonia Libby, Janet Winslow, and Iris Pelletier. He is survived by his wife Sherry A. Libby of Windham. His son Gary L. Libby of Windham,. Daughters, Terri L. Blackstone and husband Tim of Raymond, Carrie M. Libby of South Portland. Brother, Richard Libby and wife Elaine of Windham. Grandchildren, McKenzie Watkins of Raymond, Owen Blackstone of Raymond, Noelle Libby and Michael Libby of Topsham. There will be no services. The family asks that in memory of Barry, donations be made to the Windham Fire Department.
