Gorham – Barry "Bear" C. Dunlap, 55, died on January 24, 2016. He was born in Portland, on June 17, 1960, the son of Malcolm and Shirley (Nason) Dunlap. Bear grew up in Gorham and graduated from Gorham High School, class of 1978. He was one of the original junior fire fighters, and served on the Gorham Fire Department, White Rock Station, for many years. He worked at Windham Rental and was a small engine mechanic. Bear had two sons, who were his pride and joy. Besides his family life, he was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. Bear was a straight forward man, who would tell you exactly like it was. Bear is survived by his two sons, Nick and Ryan Dunlap, both of Standish; his mother, Shirley Dunlap of Gorham; brother, Dale Dunlap and wife Edie of Solon; sister, Heidi Thuotte-Palmer and fiancé James Palmer of Gorham; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Malcolm "Mac" Dunlap; and a brother, Glen Dunlap. A visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at the White Rock Cemetery.
