WINDHAM—Barbara Lynn Sawyer, 60, passed away at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on October 16, 2018. She was born December 8, 1957, the daughter of Dick and Phyllis (Howard) Wolstenhulme. Barbara was raised in Windham, graduating from Windham High School in the year of 1976. She grew up in a racing family, and had a natural love for Beech Ridge and NASCAR. She married Donald E. Sawyer on March 10, 1979 in Scarborough and together they made their home in Windham. Barbara, known to her grandkids as "Nana" was a collector of all things and especially loved her treasured pictures of grandbabies and grandpuppies. She enjoyed shopping, especially when she would score a good bargain. Barbara was a social butterfly who loved to talk with people and made friends easily. She will be remembered for her fun personality, tasty baked goods and deep love of family. She is survived by her husband, Donald of Windham; a daughter Janice Douglas and her husband Ryan of Wells; grandchildren Sawyer and Bennett Douglas of Wells; and her parents Dick and Phyllis Wolstenhulme of Windham. She was predeceased by her baby daughter, Kimberly. A special thank you to Barbara's extended family at the Casco Bay Dialysis Center for the loving support they provided the last 5 years as well as Gosnell Hospice for their outstanding care. A period of visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Windham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, Windham, with a memorial service beginning at 6:00pm.
