GORHAM—Barbara Burnell Perry, 95, of Gorham and Homosassa, Florida, the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Chadbourne) Burnell passed away May 10, 2018 at the Brooksville Health Care Facility in Brooksville, FL. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, lovingly called Nana or Tuey. Barbara graduated from Bridgton High School in June of 1940 and married Henry B Perry September of 1940. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. Barbara held various jobs in her life, including working at Zayres and Blanchards store in Naples. Most of her life she was a homemaker and took much joy in being with her children as they grew. Barbara was undoubtedly the matriarch of her family. She loved it when the grandchildren began arriving and later the great grandchildren and was so delighted that she got to see her great great grandchildren. She would marvel on the fact that she lived to see five generations of her family. In the last month she got to see the youngest great great granddaughter and took her for a ride in the wheelchair. Barbara had lived with her son Ralph and wife Frances for the past 19 years, only moving to her daughter Sharon's in Homosassa last July. She is survived by her son Ralph Perry and his wife Frannie of Gorham, daughter Donna Steen of Idaho, and Sharon Heskett and husband Bobby of Florida; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren; she also leaves behind a sister, Abbie Winslow of Fryeburg, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry; a daughter, Mary Ethel; and siblings Louise, Julia, and Clara, Lincoln, Irving and Walter. A special thanks to the Brooksville Health Care Facility. Barbara had special nurses and CNA's that we would like to mention for their loving care while she was there Sam, Danielle, and Angela. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Wednesday, May 16, from 6pm to 8pm at the Windham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Rd., Windham, Maine, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday May 17, at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Refuge League, P.O. Box 336, Westbrook, ME 04098, as Barbara had a real love of animals.
