Barbara Anne Farrell passed away peacefully on the day before her birthday, July 23, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born in Portland, Maine to Genevieve and Everett Simpson.  She grew up in Portland and graduated from Portland schools.  One day, she skipped school to participate in the Miss Sebago Lake beauty contest and won!  She worked at H.P. Hood for many years where she worked as a lab technician.  On April 24, 1954, she married the love of her life, Jim.  They settled in Westbrook, Maine, and also had a camp on Raymond Pond where she enjoyed spending time with her most treasured family and friends. They bought a travel trailer and when they retired, they wintered in Mission, Texas, and traveled to all but 4 of the 50 states.   In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Donald and Walter Simpson.  She is survived by her husband Jim of 69 years of Westbrook, Maine, her son Michael and his wife Susan of Sebago, Maine, and their two sons Myles Farrell of St. Louis, Missouri, Casey Farrell and his wife Calle of Frisco, Colorado, her daughter Patricia Farrell of Windham, Maine, and her sister Patricia Robbins of Champagne, Illinois. A celebration of life will be at Dolby, Blais, & Segee Funeral Home located at 35 Church Street, Westbrook, Maine from 6-8 pm on Friday, July 28, 2023.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Barbara's name to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Rd, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
