Gorham Aubine Hawkes C. Quirion died peacefully in Gorham on June 17, 2018. A long time, resident of Falmouth, born in Portland December 23, 1925, the daughter of Waldo E. Hawkes and Hattie Reed. Mrs. Quirion graduated from Falmouth High School in 1945, and worked at Interstate Uniform for several years as a seamstress and also did monograms. She lived a full life. Having no children of her own she surrounded herself with nieces and nephews and took them on many occasions to the cottage in Naples and let them be free with very few rules. To better state it, she was known as the fun aunt. In later years the same nieces and nephews surrounded her with love and care. She loved sewing, knitting and over the years she made several flower girl dresses for weddings and knitted Christmas stockings for her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed camping, biking and visiting Florida. She was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur John Carrier in 1977, and her second husband, Joseph G. Quirion in 1980; and seven brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sister Edna H Whitney of Gray, Maine and Winter Park, Florida, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank The Gorham House Windsor II staff, Beacon Hospice and Dr. Berman for their kindness and special care given to Auntie. A graveside service will be held at 10:30AM Tuesday July 3, at the Methodist Cemetery, Blackstrap Road, Cumberland.
