WINDHAM – Asher Mathias Erskine Salazar, 5 months, passed away in his parent's arms and surrounded by family at Maine Medical Center on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. He was born on January 6, 2018 in Portland to Willy Salazar-Caseres and Dawn (Erskine) Salazar. Born prematurely at twenty-eight weeks, Asher was a fighter. In his short life he had overcome many obstacles. Asher made a profound impact on those around him and brought everyone great joy. Asher thoroughly enjoyed snuggling with his parents and the company of his siblings. He was blessed with an abundance of beautiful dark hair and loved having it rubbed and stroked. His hair was admired by everyone that met him and always a topic of conversation. Asher took pleasure in watching his mobile and listening to the music continuously playing in his room. He will be greatly missed. A special thank you to the wonderful caring staff at Maine Medical Center NICU for their love and devotion to Asher. They are truly an extension of his family. He leaves behind his parents, Willy and Dawn of Windham; sisters, Anya and Addesyn and half brother Arrion; maternal grandparents, Robert and Nicolette Erskine of Windham; paternal grandparents, Griselda Caseres of Guatemala and Alfredo Salazar of California; and maternal aunt Terrese Durant and her husband Larry. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend visiting hours on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 4pm to 6pm at the Windham Chapel of Dolby Blais & Segee, 434 River Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 919 Roosevelt Trail, Windham. Burial will follow at Mayberry Cemetery, Park Road, Windham.
