STANDISH—Arthur H. "Butch" Webster, 68, died July 6, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born November 26, 1948, a son of Elwood and Williamina (Spink) Webster. Butch grew up in Gorham, graduating from Gorham High School in the class of 1967. Upon graduation, he enrolled in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country. On July 8, 1972, he married Arlene Boivin and together they raised two children, Jason and Laura. Butch spent his career working as a diesel mechanic for RJ Grondin & Sons; he was employed there for 30 years until his retirement in 2011. Butch had a passion for racing; he loved everything involving racing and especially enjoyed watching his family at the race track. He was also a die-hard Patriots and Red Sox fan, often found watching a game on tv, or his favorite show, Mash. An outdoorsman, he also enjoyed snowmobiling and camping with his family. Some of his favorite pastimes include playing cards and cooking new and "original" recipes for his family. Above all, Butch was very dedicated family man. He will be remembered as a happy, generous, and caring patriarch who loved his family. He is survived by his children, Jason Webster and his wife Becki of Standish, and Laura McKeage and her husband Dan Sr. of Gorham; a sister Sharon Hubbard and her partner Reggie of Gray; grandchildren, Cody and Jenna Webster of Standish and Shawn and Dan McKeage Jr. of Gorham; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved German Sheppard, Sadie. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Arlene Webster in 2007. A public visitation will be held on Monday, July 10 from 6pm to 8pm at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham, ME 04082. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at 10am. Interment will take place at the North Gorham Cemetery.
