Obituary

SCARBOROUGH – Arthur F. Voter, 84, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born on November 9, 1936 in Wilton, Maine, the son of Warren and Faye (Colburn) Voter. Arthur graduated from Farmington High School and the Burdett Business School in Boston. Arthur was an accountant for various Maine Auto Dealerships over his career, most recently at Starkey Ford in York. Arthur enjoyed working and retired begrudgingly only after turning 80. Arthur and Ginny would spend their vacation time traveling together. Cruises and trips to Florida were always on the horizon. Arthur and Ginny were also frequent visitors to many of the best restaurants around the Scarborough and Portland areas. As a couple they would venture out for a quiet dinner for two on weekdays, and welcome friends to dine with them on the weekends. They were friends to many of the staff and owners of the area restaurants. Arthur would make special requests to be seated in the sections of his favorite people. Impeccably dressed, Arthur and Ginny could be easily spotted enjoying fine cuisine. Arthur enjoyed being an accountant. So much that he rarely took a day off from work. It seemed like theonly vacation he took from work was to travel with Ginny, or to play golf with his grandsons. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Virginia "Ginny" E. (Wescott) Voter; daughter, Jill A. (Voter) Hickey and her husband, Thomas of Maynard MA; grandsons, Kevin and Matthew Hickey. Arthur is also survived by his sister, Brenda (Voter) York and her husband Bussey, of Farmington, Maine; nieces, Terry Zacker and her husband, John, Tammy Kelly and her husband, Pete, and Trudi Johnson and her husband, Erik; and many great nephews and nieces. An hour of visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee Funeral, 434 River Road, Windham. A graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Westbrook will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to the Enclave of Scarborough, 18 Black Point Road, Scarborough, Maine 04074, Attn: Caitlin Marsanskis or to a charity of your choice.
