Obituary

WINDHAM – Arthur Wesley Richardson, 80, died on June 10, 2017 at Ledgewood Manor in Windham. He was born October 2, 1936 in Standish in the family home, the son of the late Roland A. and Helen Maria (Boothby) Richardson. Arthur graduated from Windham High School in 1956. He joined his father and uncle in the masonry and moving trade and later started his own business, A.W. Richardson & Sons, which became a prominent name in the Windham and Lakes Region community for moving buildings, masonry work and snowplowing. He was on the Windham Fire Department for many years. Arthur married Sandra Loring on September 6, 1958 and settled in Windham, raising four sons. He enjoyed racing at Beech Ridge Speedway and Oxford Plains, roller skating, dancing, camping and mackerel fishing. In his later years he never missed a bean supper. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Tony. Surviving are his wife, Sandra; his sons Timothy Richardson and his wife Antje of Casco, Terrence Richardson and his wife Iryna of Windham, Todd Richardson and his wife Pamela of Raymond; eleven grandchildren, Patrick, Derick, Timothy, Alyssa, Cameron, Viktoria, Wesley and his wife Sandra, Raymond, Randal, Megan Lowell and her husband Joseph, and Nikole Young and her husband Andrew; one great-grandson, Cayden Young; one sister, Marilyn Thompson; many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 – 7:00pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the chapel. Burial will be private. A reception will follow the service at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Parish Hall, 919 Roosevelt Trail, Windham.
