Arthur F. Bonin, "Charlie", 85, of Spring St., Westbrook, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Gosnell Hospice Home in Scarborough surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Westbrook, the son of Ephrem and Bernadette (Harvey) Bonin. He was raised in Westbrook and attended St. Hyacinth School. Arthur served in the U.S. Army before he took a job at the S.D. Warren Paper Co., where he worked for 45 years before retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Arthur is survived by his wife Sherrill (Donahue) Bonin of Westbrook; step children, James Sheffield of Westbrook, Marg Post of Mechanic Falls, Linda Morgan of Westbrook, Patricia Langill of South Portland, and Diane Moore of Westbrook; his sister Florence Meserve of Winslow; two sister-in-laws, Muriel Bonin of Lewiston and Donna Bonin of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Stephen, Colleen, Paul, Josh, Amber, Elizabeth, Ryan, Anthony, and Brandi; great grandchildren, Kaylin, Melorra, and Eli; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Georgette Cote, and four brothers, Armand, George, Emile, and Donald. Visiting hours will be from 9 to 11 AM Friday at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Anthony's Church.
