Anne Elgin Tucker of Hollis, Maine passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 18th peacefully in the presence of her husband and two children. Anne grew up in Gorham and graduated from Gorham High. It was there she met her husband, Jason Tucker. Together ever since, the couple was married on July 3, 1971. They lived in Norfolk, VA for a short time before moving back to Maine, and the Hollis area. Devoted to her family, Anne was an extraordinary home maker until both her children were out of college. She then acquired her real estate license in 2001, going on to acquire her brokers license, successfully practiced for many years. Anne was an accomplished artist and was a member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration. Anne was a beautiful person, accepting and supporting everyone. Her caring nature, charismatic personality, and smile will be missed by many. Anne was dedicated to her family, ensuring all events were coordinated and perfect! She was the Martha Stewart of Hollis! She enjoyed baking platters upon platters of cookies, pies and cakes. Lemon sponge was her daddy's favorite! She enjoyed decorating, sewing, reading and knitting. However her family were her most prized possessions. She was an amazing grandmother to her Owen, Hailey, Jack and Katherine. She did everything in her power to always be present in the moment. She was always full of smiles, laughter, hugs and reassurance that life teaches us lessons that may be hard but are worthy. An animal lover, cats, dogs, kittens, sheep, horses, birds and all others. Anne was also the family event planner, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, pool parties, trips to North Carolina -outer banks, always making sure things were just right. Anne was a beautiful person and will be missed by all. Anne is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jason; her parents, Ken and Phyllis; daughter Alisa Sanborn and husband David of South Berwick, me; son, Joshua Tucker and wife Elizabeth of Tolland, CT; grandchildren, Jack and Katie Sanborn and Owen and Hailey Tucker; brothers, Vincent Pike and wife Evelyn of Hollis, Bradford Pike, and Lawrence Pike both of Gorham; sister-in-law, Lynda Langella and fiancé Keith Tabor of Standish; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly. Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Wednesday, December 21, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 76 State St., Gorham. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22, at 1PM at the chapel. Burial will be in the spring.
