Andrew George Kulig, 76, known to those he loved as Andy, passed away on April 30, 2024 in Scarborough, Maine. He was born May 17, 1947, in Germany. Andy was a beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Andy loved fishing, snowmobiling, and weekends at camp. He was devoted to Susan Proctor Kulig (Sue), his wife of 55 years. They were married October 4, 1969 in Southington, CT. They spent many happy days and years together, from their home in Standish, Maine to travels in Florida. They loved fishing and spending time together. There were many happy weekends at their camp on Lower Wilson Pond. Andy was a mechanical engineer and worked for many years at Data General and EMC in Westbrook, ME. He served in the United States Coast Guard and was a member of the Elks Lodge. Those who knew Andy described him as strong, humble, and intelligent. Andy's sense of humor and his friendly, compassionate nature left a lasting impact on everyone he met. His nieces and nephews have fond memories of spending time with Aunt Susie and Uncle Andy while growing up. Andy is survived by his wife, Sue. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Richard Proctor and his wife, Sue (Largo, FL) and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Frank and Sophie Stasiek Kulig, his sister Yolander Kulig Gleifert, and his sister-in-law Sheila Proctor Ward and her husband Robert. Visitation for Andy will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at Dolby, Blais & Segee, 76 State Street, Gorham, Maine. Andy valued the people in military service and so, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his honor to Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org).
