Obituary

Portland- Albert Andrew Sampson, 68, of Portland passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018. The son of Alfred and Stella Sampson, he was born in Gorham on May 12, 1949. He joined the United States Army right out of high school. He was proud to have served his country. He loved wearing camo and collecting firearms. He enjoyed collecting guns so much so that he named his son Krag, after the Krag rifle. He met his wife Barbara Burgyone when they both worked at Saunders in Portland. They were happily married for 46 years. Albert was an avid hunter; he enjoyed woodworking, and was a proud grandfather. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Paul Sampson. He is survived by his wife Barbara Sampson, his sons Shawn Sampson, of Tennessee, and Krag Sampson of Portland, his daughter-in-law Lisa McDonald, of Portland, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his sister-in-law Jane Sampson of Nashua NH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend an hour of visitation on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by a time of sharing at 12:00 PM, at Dolby, Blais & Segee, Westbrook Chapel, 35 Church St. Westbrook.
